About Sarah Maries
Sarah Maries is a fully qualified/experienced person-centered counsellor and is based in Reeditch, Worcestershire. Sarah has a favourite phrase; “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, its about learning to dance in the rain”. Life is better when you can share it, learn from it and accept it. Some people never have the opportunity to experience a warm, trusting, empathy based relationship, one in which they are not judged and one where they are heard. Sarah offers her clients a safe environment to explore any issues that they feel are holding them back. Sarah is committed to supporting her clients in finding the right path for them without being rejected or judged for their decisions.
Sarah offers confidential one-to-one counselling services, working both on a short or long term basis. She also offers children’s counselling services, working with children from the age of 13 (parental consent required). Sarah has counselling rooms in Redditch, Worcestershire, with convenient parking.
Sarah offers counselling, not limited to, but including the following issues: abuse, anger management, anxiety, bereavement, bullying, child related issues, depression, domestic violence, emotional abuse, generalised anxiety, low self-confidence, low self-esteem, physical abuse, post-traumatic stress disorder, relationship issues, self harm, sexual abuse, stress, suicidal thoughts, trauma and work related stress.
Qualifications & experience
Sarah Maries is a fully qualified and experienced counsellor with key qualifications/experience as follows:
- Certificate Introduction to Counselling Skills
- Certificate Counselling Skills Level Two
- Certificate Counselling Studies Level Three
- Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling Level Four
- Extensive experience and training in Domestic Abuse (Men, Women and Children)
- Extensive experience and training in the effects of crime including serious crime
- Trained Women’s Aid CRUSH Facilitator and Trainer
- Trained Triple P (Positive Parenting Programme) Facilitator
Sarah’s background is in Family Services/Support and working with all ages. Sarah’s voluntary roles include Victim Support, NSPCC and VOICE. She is a member of BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists) and abides by their Ethical Framework for Good Practice which includes regular supervision and continuing professional development. Sarah holds an Enhanced DBS (Disclosure Barring Service) which has replaced the CRB.
